To get approval for Water and Sewer Taps, the property owner must submit construction drawings to the Building Department for a Building Permit. A number of agencies—including Steamboat Lake Water and Sanitation District—need to give approval prior to the Department issuing a Building Permit.
Contact the designated Board Director for all questions and to arrange a meeting to submit the following required items:
- Completed application
- Building Department drawings
- Letter of approval from the Homeowners Association Environmental Control Committee
- Tap fees (payable in full at time of application)
The property owner is required to use only those excavating contractors that have been approved to do work in the District. The designated Board Director will supply a list of approved contractors upon request.
Forty-eight hours notice is required to schedule an SLWSD inspector to be on site when the taps are installed.
Taps may be made ONLY from May 1 to October 15, subject to weather conditions.
Water and Sewer service fees will be initiated upon approval of the completed taps, regardless of when occupancy of the home occurs.
